Charlize Death and TikTok Recommendation-Algorithm Allegations in France
Charlize, 15, died in Nice on November 22, 2023. Her parents said TikTok’s For You feed repeatedly exposed her to harmful material and joined French collective litigation. Amnesty International interviewed the family, but no judgment concluded that a recommendation algorithm caused her death.
